Duplicate a Zone

Duplicate a zone when you want to quickly recreate a zone’s dimensions, but want it to include unique content. The new zone will have its own magazines, but the magazines will include copies of the content from the original. You can safely remove templates, pages or items in the playlist, and create new content that will be exclusive to the new zone. You can even resize or move the zone without affecting the original or duplicate.

For Web-based playbacks: When a zone is duplicated for web-based systems, Audience.foundation automatically removes the reference to the original zone, and replaces it with the duplicate. (If no warning of this process is displayed during the duplication, then 'allow overlap' is mistakenly enabled and must be disabled. Select the screen in the tree, right-click on the zone in the right pane and select 'Allow Overlap" to disable.).

To duplicate a zone:

1.Select the zone in the tree, and go to Edit > Duplicate > Zone.

2.In the Add Zone dialog box, give the zone a name. Recommended naming procedure: ScreennameZonename (for example, TorontoVideo, NationalCrawl, LoblawsLotto, CasinoAds).

3.If your display system does not permit overlapping zones, a dialog box opens reminding you that the original zone will be removed to make room for the new zone. Say Yes to remove the original zone.

4.Give the zone a user-friendly title, which will appear in the tree, and on the web for web-based systems. Select OK to complete the process. See Zone Titles.

5.Remove content, create new magazines or resize the zone. The original zone or its content is not affected.
